The project, titled "Bridging the Gap Between Humanities and Technology in European Education" (HUM-TECH EURO), is a collaborative effort involving three partner organizations: Istituto Comprensivo di Roccalumera from Italy, Turgut Özal Kız Anadolu İmam Hatip Lisesi from Turkey, and EUpro Consultancy & Training from the Netherlands. It is set to commence on April 1, 2024, and conclude on June 30, 2025, with a project duration of 15 months and a total funding amount of €60,000. The project's ambitious goal is to merge the disciplines of humanities and technology within the European educational landscape, addressing the rapid digitalization of societies and its impact on education. This initiative is particularly focused on enhancing the digital readiness, resilience, and capacity of European youth, aligning with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal 4 on Quality Education. By integrating technological prowess with cultural understanding, the project seeks to prepare students not only for the workforce but also to become socially responsible and globally aware citizens. Activities Planned: The project encompasses a wide range of activities, including: Project Kick-off Meeting: Scheduled from April 15 to April 17, 2024, marking the official start of the project and facilitating initial discussions and planning among the partners. Development of Curriculum Modules: This ongoing activity, led by EUpro Consultancy & Training, aims to create interdisciplinary curriculum modules that integrate humanities and technology. It runs from April 22 to September 30, 2024. Teacher Training Workshops: Conducted from October 21 to October 25, 2024, in the Netherlands, these workshops are designed to equip teachers with the skills to blend technology into humanities education. Student Exchange Program: A two-week exchange program, taking place from November 11 to November 30, 2024, allows students from Italy and Turkey to participate in a cross-cultural learning experience focusing on both humanities and technology. International Virtual Student Showcase and Competition, Expert Webinars and Panels, Final Symposium and Project Evaluation, and Monitoring and Quality Assurance: These activities are strategically spread throughout the project's timeline, ensuring ongoing engagement, evaluation, and dissemination of results. Expected Results: The project aims to deliver significant outcomes, including the development of an innovative, interdisciplinary curriculum, enhanced digital literacy among educators and students, and the promotion of inclusivity and engagement for students at risk of educational disadvantages. Additionally, it seeks to contribute to the professional development of teachers, foster a sense of European identity, enhance language learning, and prepare students for a digital future.
